Great to finally see some action from the veterinary profession. Can we expect to see veterinarians involved in this cruelty no longer loading sheep who are passive/active/latent carriers of salmonella onto ships carrying this and other diseases and bacteria? Better still, can we expect to see the veterinary profession nationally refuse to be involved in this rotten to the core industry any longer?
Big ask but we will do our best to provide the profession with an alternative view and provide the public with a site that indicates that not all veterinarians are prepared to support LAE. Sentient, another group of Australian veterinarians has also been working to provide an independent
perspective for veterinarians to address animal welfare issues.
Congratulations on a very productive website , I look forward to seeing it develop over time . It is important that the facts of Live Animal Export are always publicly available so issues are considered on their merit rather than denied or supported conclusively without reason . Your website is a very good example of how that can be achieved .
I would be interested to hear comments from VALE with regard to an allegation made by WA Liberal Senator Chris Back that the petrified cow in the "4 Corners" story was suffering from a medical condition and was not shaking because it feared for its life . Thank you .
Thank you Mark. Rest assured, we are looking at the issue of the steer in question and the responses this footage elicited. Just have to watch this space and be patient with us!
Thank you Vale. Many thousands of compassionate Australians will be behind you in helping to get this vile trade ended. I am a farmer and I am appalled at the senseless cruelty that is Live Export. No animal deserves to be treated with such callousness.
Than you for your comment, Lorraine. It is reassuring to know that there are farmers behind this.
