Consistent with their scientific analysis of sheep welfare in the live export trade during the northern summer months, the Australian Veterinary Association (AVA) have now written to Mr Littleproud requesting that the moratorium across these months are upheld:
"consistent with the advice we have provided previously, we believe that the welfare risks to the animals are unacceptably high in June, and that no exemptions should be granted. It is critical that the Government upholds the regulations, to ensure that animal welfare standards during live export of sheep are in line with the expectations of the veterinary profession and the wider community". See letter here.

We all know what happens to sheep when they are transported during the hot period so please do not let this happen to the sheep been loaded in Fremantle.

Live export is abhorrent animal cruelty at any time, but summer months are particularly bad. Please uphold the moratorium...these are innocent animals. Please have some compassion.

Do not send these sheep into these horrific conditions. Our government has no right to practice animal cruelty.

Please stop live export once and for all. It is inhumane. Please do not send these innocent animals into that heat as a minimum. Let compassion trump money and profits.
