Latest information suggests Kuwait Livestock Transport and Trading, which trades in Australia as RETWA, has also applied for an export licence.
So lets get everything quite clear here.... - RETWA operates out of the same address as Emanuels - RETWA is the Australian subsidiary of KLTT - KLTT owns the Al Messilah and the Al Shuwaikh, two of the main ships used by Emanuels - in 2003, Mr Graham Daws was Managing Director of RETWA when its licence was suspended by DAFF due to four high mortality shipments... - during the RETWA suspension, Mr Daws was able to continue to export animals under an export licence held by Emanuel Exports Pty Ltd...a licence now cancelled. Surely, a licence wont be granted to a company so intimately associated with another company that has just lost its licence? The public arent going to buy that one...

Stop ignoring this sick trade by shifting the goal posts. None of these ships have complied with animal welfare standards and neither have the countries the animals have been exported to so therefore this has to stop.

There is no humane way of exporting live animals off shore and packed in a ship. It is clear there are alternative and less cruel options for farmers, that are being ignored. Unfortunately this is an example of our modern society, economic greed triumphing our core Australian values. I can even understand the animal cruelty occurring in third world countries that stem from severe poverty, lack of education and desperation but in a country like Australia how can I respect farmers and politicians that support this torture upon those that cannot even defend themselves, in the name of money hungry hungry greed. Please think about the legacy you would want to leave behind for your loved ones, children and the environment.
